Modern retake on a heritage cottage

Nestled on the shore of the harbour at Whangarei Heads, this colonial style home is a modern replica of the existing heritage cottage that had been on the site for many years. To meet resource consent requirements the new house needed to maintain the original footprint of the old house.

The old home was demolished to create an impressive new build that reflected the style of the original house, but with the function and design of a modern home.

Maximising the stunning views of the beautiful established pohutukawas and the Whangarei Harbour beyond, the new home has wonderful indoor / outdoor flow onto the lawn and beach below. With its large waterfront section the property also has space to accommodate the extended family for summer camping and year round entertainment.
